Frequently asked questions – FAQ

: what is it for?

is for giving more comfortable and reliable dental treatments, increasing the perceived quality.

What ’s work is based on?

A correct occlusion allows to patient to make a masticatory muscles maximum activity. If muscles “do not work”, it might mean a no correct occlusion or rehabilitation. Therefore no coordinated muscles can be responsible for couples of forces at the base of many prosthetic, orthodontic and functional compliances. So muscular activity can give important therapeutic indications as well as begin a occlusion and rehabilitation “quality control”; that is why was created.

Which is the mission?

It consists in improving treatments quality allowing to all Clinicians (not expert too!) to realize functional analysis of masticatory muscles in a simple and efficient way. So they could obtain some indications on how to get the top functional satisfaction of each patient.

What can I get with ?

  1. Increasing the quality of the detected treatment, realizing more comfortable prosthetic and orthodontic therapies with less mechanical stress.
  2. Improving the workflow creating more reliable rehabilitations and decreasing the prosthetic compliances
  3. Diagnosing instrumentally muscular imbalances of dental origin easing conversation with patients and collegues
  4. Identifying disfunctional patients out of dental pertinence
  5. Monitoring the masticatory function in the course of time
  6. Certifying in simple and fast way the functional situation before and after the treatment

How does work?

By a fast and painless exam, identifies patients whom dental occlusion causes alterations of masticatory and cervical muscles. It allows to Clinician to identify and adjust teeth/rehabilitations that generate torque forces on teeth, prosthesis, implants and condyle and suggest dental area which intervening on.

Is it difficult to use?

is furnished with a 3-hour training course when the Clinician learns the acquisition protocols and principles of interpretation. Several events (see section Events) are organized in order to facilitate the confrontation among Clinicians who want to examine in depth clinical cases and obtain more deepened information.

Which muscles are analized?

Surface Masseter, Antorior Temporal, Sternocleidomastoid, floor of mouth, Trapezius are analized during clenching and dynamics acts as swallowing and chewing.

Is it reliable?

Several international bibliography which impact factor written by several Universities evaluated reliable and repeatable the measuring protocol where comes from (see Edu1 – Articles).

What can the Clinician do with it?

The Clinician can test the occlusion in natural dentition, temporary or definitive and removable prosthesis, occlusal registration and so on, in order to obtain a less of imbalances muscular activity which distribute equally forces on hard structure.

How long does an exam take?

It takes only 4 minutes.

Is it an invasive exam?

No it is not, it registers a biologic signal emitting no one.
